Culture note
Paris is not the only French city with abundant cultural treasures. Large cities such as Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse have major museums and monuments, and smaller towns also have important collections, such as Lens with its Louvre outpost and Metz with part of the Pompidou Arts Centre.
La Piscine
One of the more original attractions is in Roubaix, the former textile capital. La Piscine is an art museum housed in a former Art Deco swimming bath, hence the name.
